The video tape industry themselves only claim a life expectancy of 12 years - even if you never play it! Even after as little as 5 years quality will begin to suffer and virtually no tape will survive over 25 years.
Have you looked at your wedding video lately - or your home movies of the kids and holidays? Chances are they are getting 'sparkly', or worse.
Digital Camcorder tapes (Digital 8 and Mini DV) are not even expected to last as long as VHS. They are required to hold huge amounts of data in a very small area - any degradation in the tape will show as 'pixellation'. You may even be seeing this now, even with tapes a just few months old.
That's why you need to get those tapes transferred now!
£10 for each DVD (up to 2 hours worth) complete with case.
Digitally transferred to ensure no further quality loss.
The following are available for a small extra cost:
Accurate chapter (scene) detection - £1 per chapter.
Additional DVD Menus for chapter selection (first menu is included free) - £3 flat rate.
Extra copies only £4 when ordered at the same time.
Editing (delete those embarrassing scenes!) - cost varies.
Still frame capture - 25p per frame. These are provided on CDRom in jpeg (.jpg) format with minimal compression to maintain high quality images.
I can also make backup copies of existing DVD's to which there are no copyright restrictions.
